As Mother's Day approaches, we want to honour the amazing mothers who are pursuing their dreams and furthering their education through Career Tree. We spoke with three inspiring women who have overcome obstacles and pursued their passions, all while raising their families.
Meet Monique Deza, a mother of three who made the difficult decision to put her studies on hold to focus on her family. But after three years, her eldest child asked her if she ever considered returning to university. With the encouragement of her family and the support of Career Tree, Monique enrolled in the Health and Wellbeing in Society course.
Being a mature student has brought Monique closer to her children as they now share similar life stages, such as studying for exams. With the flexibility to study around her busy life and the support of an advisor, Monique is now thriving in her studies and encourages others to pursue their dreams.

Mareen, a mother of a six-year-old, has faced many challenges in her journey and despite setbacks, she topped her class last year in her Foundation course and is now entering the first year of her Business and Human Resource Management degree.
For Mareen, Career Tree has provided her with the opportunity to study the course she loves and has given her newfound confidence. She shared, "I can't imagine what it feels like, being a graduate and wearing that hat one day… Just thinking about it now gives me goosebumps! I have always wanted this all my life, and now I'm a few steps closer to my goal. I will be the first in my family to graduate, so this is a huge achievement for me, and my family will be super proud!"

Lastly, meet Bouchra, a mother of three who always knew she wanted to make a difference in the lives of young people. Despite working in the catering industry for years, Bouchra wanted more from life and enrolled in the Health and Social Science course through Career Tree.
For Bouchra, pursuing her passion for helping kids has been a long and difficult journey. But with the support of Career Tree, her fears soon faded, and she is now one step closer to achieving her dreams. She shared, "it may have felt like I was risking everything to do something I wasn't capable of doing, but the support I received at Career Tree was incredible. Now, I can’t wait to start my course and be fully qualified in three years!"
